ADP Mobile - Tablet
The ADP Mobile Solutions application allows end-users of ADP products and services to remain connected to their HCM solutions from anywhere. From payroll and time sheets to retirement balances, news and events and company contacts, ADP Mobile Solutions empowers employees to securely connect with their organizations right from their smartphones or tablets.

Utilizing this app, users can find colleagues and contact information, view pay statements and W2s, clock in/out and submit time sheets, view time off balances and submit/approve requests, access FSA balances and recent transactions, enroll in benefit plans and make elections, change 401(k) contribution rates and view account performance, manage their team members, and much more...
Employing a pragmatic marketing approach, and iterative research and design via MVP, this app was wholly re-imagined after target-market research indicated gaps in the areas of ease of use and overall engagement.

Research with end-users within the context of use revealed that on-the-go access was needed but was either not being performed due to lack of available tools, or was being performed, but in an inefficient manner as the existing application was not intuitive or understood well enough to perform the required tasks.

This data combined with documented trends in mobile usage, indicated the app would greatly benefit from a complete overhaul of its task flows, interactions and capabilities. At the same time a fully responsive UI implementation would be developed to support a full array of mobile devices across Android and iOS.

Prior to the redesign, the app was lacking functionality, basic in its overall look and feel, not adhering to the ADP Visual Design Language standards, and developed in discreet code bases for both iOS and Android versions.  It was also not optimized for tablet use and could only be used on a tablet in its smartphone layout. The original version is shown below.

Initial concepts were wire-framed, prototyped and tested with target audiences on both mobile phone and tablet devices in an iterative fashion. New functionality was created based upon a design-thinking approach with user research playing a core function in the process. At the same time, the code-base was unified and containerized to function across operating systems and do so in a responsive manner based upon device type and break-points for design elements.

All concepts were fully vetted via iterative discovery testing with target users who were recruited to perform task-based testing either in lab or remotely. Between testing rounds, iterations were made on the design based upon outcomes until the go-to-market designs were achieved.

Final designs and all interactions were based upon the ADP visual design standards and related principles which place the end-user at the core of all ADP design.

This app was rolled out to over 225,000 ADP clients and achieved over 10 Million downloads making it the #1 HCM app in the Apple app store*.
